Passageway provides a safe, supportive community where individuals living with mental illness support each other and have the opportunity to improve work and social skills to enrich their lives.
Find your own way.
Passageway is first and foremost a community of people. It is a community before it is a building or a program. Passageway is the only accredited clubhouse in Iowa, and we are committed to helping people living with serious mental illness as they manage their illness and rejoin the worlds of employment, education, family, and friends. People who come to Passageway are called members; they are men and women of all ages who work within the Passageway to promote and achieve their recovery from schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depression, or other serious and persistent forms of mental illness. Participation is entirely voluntary, with all services and opportunities provided by members and staff working side by side as colleagues. The International Standards for Clubhouse Programs further define the Clubhouse Model of rehabilitation.
Located in Des Moines, Iowa, Passageway's clubhouse offers its members and staff an accessible space to perform the duties of the work-ordered day, building a network of natural supports and life-long friendships. Whether our members are working in our two service units, attending employment programming, or socializing on the patio, Passageway's clubhouse has something to offer everyone.
